It’s only a couple of weeks since I was writing about how to cope with being a hot-glass artist in a heatwave - well, that’ll teach me! Still, all the downpours over the last few days and nights mean at least I’m no longer having to water the workshop pots and hanging basket twice a day!
Here’s what I’ve been up to at Let Fire Inspire…
I so enjoyed my day at the Betchworth Bead-In at the beginning of August - it’s great to catch up with beady contacts, and this is always such a lovely show.
Creating new products
Since I started using coloured ribbon to price-mark my loose beads and bead sets, I’ve had access to lots and lots of different colours of ribbon - so I’ve been having a play! Ribbon + bead = pendant or earring dangle!
Letting fire inspire others
It’s a busy time with my courses at the moment - I did a short wireworking course last week, which was fun, and on Saturday I had two more students in the workshop for a morning taster course at the torch flame. Beryl and Lesley really enjoyed working with the glass, and were thrilled with the beads they’d made!
Artwave Festival starts on Saturday 17th - so just a few days to go! Gale-force winds were to blame for a minor hiccup - my venue sign blew down at the weekend - but normality has been restored, the sign is now back up again, and I’m busy getting the workshop shipshape ready for my three open weekends ahead!
The workshop at Let Fire Inspire is open for Artwave Festival from 11am to 5pm on Saturday & Sunday 17th & 18th August, Saturday & Sunday 24th & 25th August, Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September.
Drop in to watch demonstrations at the torch flame, browse my range of beads and jewellery for sale, and find out about my courses.
While you’re here, why not book on one of my Artwave special mini tasters? Make your very own bead from scratch in this quick taster only during Artwave! Mini tasters are suitable for participants aged 12 or above, and are scheduled for Wednesday 21st August, Wednesday 28th August and Wednesday 4th September.
