I’m thrilled that for the first time I’m going to be taking part in Uckfield’s late-night Christmas shopping event on Friday December 7!
I’m part of the mini arts and crafts trail - come and browse my work at the pop-up shop hosted by Rowland Gorringe on Uckfield High Street between 5pm and 9pm on the evening. I’m one of five artists in this venue, and it promises to offer a fabulous atmosphere with lots to look at, browse and add to your Christmas present stash!
Uckfield really goes to town with this fabulous event - do come and join in with the festive fun!
Pop up and see what’s going on at Late Night Shopping evening in Uckfield
Put Friday 7th December in your diary and get ready to follow the mini arts and crafts
trail, sponsored by Uckfield Framing Company, at ‘pop up’ shops in four Uckfield
Estate Agents’ offices.
Last year was generously hosted by Rowland Gorringe and it was a great success.
Associate Director Stephanie Bennison said it was such a fabulous evening that they
are keen to repeat this year.
Building on the success of that evening they have now added Cubitt & West, Fine &
Country and Freeman Forman - all located in the main part of the High Street, and
all on the ‘Carvills’ side.
There will be up to four local artists and makers in each of these ‘pop up’ Christmas
Market style shops, demonstrating their myriad skills and selling their wares.
The variety of talent is extraordinary, ranging from jewellery making and weaving to
calligraphy featuring Tina Warren and her much admired baubles! You can get a
hand decorated, personalised bauble to hang on your Christmas tree... or to give as
Keith Pettit, wood engraver, sculptor and bonfire sculpture builder, will be
demonstrating his work during the evening... albeit his miniature wood engraving
rather than chainsaw carving!
There will be several other artists and makers like Sally Rose (textiles), Philomena
Harmsworth-Dayman (painter, ceramics), Annie Mills (painter), Mark Preston (digital
artist & photographer), Tess Deverill (spinning and weaving), and Natalie Banton
and Darren Coleshill (photography).
You will be able to watch these talented people as they work, purchase their
products and learn more about their craft. You might even get a mince pie and a
glass of prosecco...
